Gregson Zambrano
Gregson Zambrano, son of Venezuelan parents, was born in Guanare, the capital of the state of Portuguesa in Venezuela, the 16th of November 1971. From an early age Zambrano showed an inclination towards painting and drawing, making great experimentations with the later, for being the most accessible one, since it only required pencil and paper. His investigations in the art of drawing and painting remained self-taught until 1992, when Zambrano entered the Centro de Bellas Artes Amanda Munos, as a fine art student. There he experimented with drawing, painting, sculpture, and the graphic arts, having as professors Pastor Garcia, Manuel Espinoza and Mietick Dietinecky among others. In 1995, he finished his studies there, participating in multiple collective shows. In that same year he was accepted by the Instituto de Estudios Superiores de Artes Plasticas Armando Reveron (I.U.E.S.A.P.A.R.), the most renowned institution of the arts. These studies extended for a period of six years, including his thesis, until 2001, the date when he obtained the title of Licenciado en Artes Plasticas (Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting). These studies were done simultaneous to his creative activity, which proceeded uninterrupted from 1992 to the present. Zambrano was awarded 2nd national prize for painting Ciudad Guanare.
