The Beginning

The 22nd of December of 1987 the Foundation Museo de Arte Acarigua-Araure was established in the Museo de Bellas Artes. A non-for-profit private organization legally own and integrated by the civil, with the aim of providing the necessary funding for the creation and function of the museum that bears its name. During the first years the foundation worked with funding provided by its members and local business'. In April 1988, the space of the old Club Páez was given to the museum, edification of the 50's with great architectural qualities.

This was the press article featured in the Venezuelan newspaper El Universal.

Institutional Fundaments
MAAA priority is education in all its spectrum: An educational programs that stands in the idea of creativity, concept which cares not about the results, but about the process, the exploration without prejudices; integral knowledge rather than descriptive knowledge. A concept that sees creativity as a tool towards freedom.

Main goals achieved
Since its establishment, MAAA has done conducted the fallowing activities.

    Regular top quality art exhibitions comprising all arts and showing the works of national and international artists.

    Lectures, concerts and activities that promote culture.

    Social programs that involved child education, and activities for the elder.

    The museum has accomplished the difficult task of channeling the social efforts towards the formation of the new generations, as well as the knowledge of the productive activities of the region, contributing to the development and integration of the individual and the cultural patrimony that conforms its surroundings.
