Tulio Díaz May 27, 1958 - January 11, 2009 (R.I.P.) Learning of the passing of Visual Artist Tulio Diaz, was received with an enormous sense of loss. The Venezuelan American Endowment for the Arts (VAEA) regrets to inform this news. Tulio died in the city of Acariqua on January 11th, 2009. Tulio was a prolific artist, who was loved by everyone who knew him, he leaves an extensive body of work, which may be found in diverse, national and international collections, among those, the collection at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. In spite of a short existence, Tulio will have a place in the history of art. The VAEA had the privilege of his participation in the exhibition "5X5 Acarigua-New York", where his work stood out and garnered him the acclaim of the public, as well as international artists, critics, and curators. Our most sincere sympathy and condolences to his family, his wife, Mary Moreno de Díaz, his children, Tulio Andrés, Mebes, and Alejandro. Tulio, you will forever live in your work and in our hearts. |
